Underfloor electric heating
Underfloor electric heating systems are extremely reliable these days, and make tiled floors warm and comfortable. But they have to be installed correctly. Apart from having to know what you're doing, it's a legal requirement for a qualified electrician to connect the sytem to the mains.
Installing heating systems as part of a tile installation is not a DIY job - you need to be qualified and know what you're doing.
Waterproofing
Achieving a waterproof finish that will last for years is critical to many tiled installations - do it yourself, and you might find yourself doing running repairs for years to come. I've often been asked to replace bathroom tiles which haven't been properly fitted, leading to problems with discolouration, staining and tiles falling off the walls.
I know how to achieve a fully waterproof finish, whether you want a run of tiles or a full wet room installation with tanking.
